Student spaces

Research students in the Faculty have access to a number of dedicated spaces for postgraduate students, as well as all other University learning facilities.

Postgraduate hubs

Housed on the third floor of the Stopford Building is the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health Postgraduate Hub. There is a social space, kitchen, small meeting rooms and PC cluster for all postgraduates to use. You can book the meeting room or training room through the FBMH room booking system.

There are division hubs also:

  • Dentistry – dedicated suite on first floor of Coupland 3 building (Room 1.025) and access to ground floor clusters.
  • Nursing, midwifery and social work – Room 3.331 in the Jean McFarlane building holds a small PC cluster and breakout space.
  • Psychology and mental health – the Zochonis Student Hub and Coupland 1 common room.

MDC Space

There is dedicated space for postgraduate research students on the third floor of the Roscoe Building, Brunswick Street. There are a number of rooms with varying capacities from two to 24 people.

Alan Gilbert Learning Commons

State of the art study and learning centre boasting an onsite cafe, social meeting space in the atrium, flexible study spaces and group study rooms. The Learning Commons is open to all students, so might be quieter outside of term time.
